PHotoESPAÑA, International Photography and Visual Arts Festival, reaches its twentieth edition. The celebration that will extend to 2018, when the Festival turns 20 years old. PHotoESPAÑA 2017 presents from 31 May 31 to 27 August 100 exhibitions with works by 514 artists and a program of 20 activities for professionals and the general that will take place in 62 venues.
Alberto García-Alix presents his carte blanche, The Exaltación of Being which includes six exhibitions by Anders Petersen, Paulo Nozolino, Antoine d’Agata, Pierre Molinier, Karlheinz Weinberger and Teresa Margolles, as well as a book editing laboratory directed by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin
Elliott Erwitt, Cristina García Rodero, Gabriele Basilico, Chema Madoz, Adriana Lestido, Peter Fraser and Minor White in monographic exhibitions and collective shows such Eyes Wide Open! 100 Years of Leica Photography and A Certain Landscape: Recent Signature Photography in Spain, are among the noteworthy proposals of this edition.
To celebrate its anniversary several of the main Spanish Cultural Venues are participating in this editions. These are MACBA in Barcelona, Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, Es Baluard in Palma de Mallorca, IVAM in Valencia and Fotonoviembre in Tenerife,
Besides, PHotoESPAÑA extends is network to Kyoto, Beijing, Chicago, Buenos Aires and Melbourne, which join the European venues in Berlin, Bratislava, Chalon Sur Saône, Dublin, Lausanne, Mérignac and Warsaw
