The photographers Maria Sturm and Cemre Yesil have portrayed a practice rooted in the Ottoman Empire which has been adopted by Turkish men for centuries

LA FÁBRICA PRESENTS BERNARD PLOSSU´S UNPUBLISHED IMAGES IN A NEW EXHIBITION

The first exhibition of Plossu in La Fábrica brings together nearly 40 photographs, including 25 unpublished works from the American West on the 70s and a selection of some of his most recognizable images

Photographer traveler par excellence, his nomadic spirit has led him to travel around the world to realize its most intimate side

The exhibition opening will take place tomorrow Thursday April 9th at 20.00 h in La Fábrica (C / Alameda 9, Madrid). The exhibition will remain open until May 17

ROGER BALLEN. ASYLUM OF THE BIRDS

Roger Ballen’s photographs move between the real and the imaginary. Within his black and white photographic work, we see the mix of animals and humans, cleanliness and filth, the living and the dead, what is real and what is imagined. Despite the fact that most of his work (especially from 1970 until the 1990s) continues along the lines of documentary photography, his works have a psychological atmosphere of unreality that sets them apart. LA FÁBRICA: TWENTY YEARS CREATING CULTURE

Founded in 1994, the cultural management company is celebrating two decades of commitment to culture in all its forms.

During these twenty years La Fábrica has produced more than one hundred projects for 300 clients in 40 countries.

International festivals and exhibitions, books and magazines, arts and exhibition spaces, innovative Internet projects, education and analysis of the cultural sphere, these are just some of our initiatives in which more than six million people have participated.
 
La Fábrica will recognize the artists and professionals who have served as inspiration with “La Fábrica’s Chosen 20.” Pilar Citoler, Chema Conesa, Javier Fesser, Alberto García-Alix, Fernando Gutiérrez, Ramón Masats, Telmo Rodríguez, Pablo Rubio, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo and Quico Vidal will take part in exclusive seminars open to the public.
 
Among La Fábrica’s up-coming events are the beginning of the academic year at the SUR and PIC.A schools; a new edition of the Director of Cultural Projects course; PHotoEspaña activities in São Paulo, Rosario and Tegucigalpa; the celebration of Festival Eñe in Madrid and Panama; a renewed Notodohoteles.com; and the 13th edition of Jamesonotodofilmfest.
 
In 2015 a new edition of Pública, the International Cultural Management Symposia will take place, as well as the 18th edition of PHotoEspaña and the 1st Congress for Business and Culture, among many other events.

La Fábrica/The Moth House publish The Rehearsal of Space & The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, a historical, photographic survey about ESA

The Rehearsal of Space is the most comprehensive photographic survey ever produced about a leading scientific and space exploration organisation.

In 2012, Edgar Martins was granted unparalleled access to The European Space Agency (ESA) and its partners’ programs, including the microgravity, telecommunication, human spaceflight, lunar, Mars and Mercury exploration programs, amongst others. 

La Fábrica/The Moth House has published a selection of 88 images from this project, in a publication titled The Rehearsal of Space and the Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite.

The book includes texts by Sérgio Mah (former artistic director of Biennale Lisboa Photo and PHotoEspaña),  John Gribbin (astrophysicist and science writer) and João Seixas (CERN physicist).
